In addition to this, we covered and hammered home the essentials of a proper nutrition plan. Any burning questions or concerns the ladies had were encouraged to be brought to the table! This is a DISCUSSION and not a lecture :) We always end up having some fantastic conversation and topics covered that weren't necessarily in the outline, but this is what makes being at the nutrition seminar so beneficial and worthwhile. The meeting spot is the same: the tennis courts in Lakeside Park , closest to the Mirasol condo complex.  The majority of our ladies were requesting a later start time, so we are giving this a go.  We’ll go where there is demand! &lt;br /&gt;            Our 9:00am boot camp time slot will move up to &lt;strong&gt;8:00am beginning Monday June 8th&lt;/strong&gt;.  This camp time will continue to meet at the Lakeside basketball court.  With the warmer temperatures and school being out for the summer, this requested time adjustment should workout nicely. &lt;br /&gt;            Next boot camp sessions begin MONDAY JUNE 22nd!! This will be a 2 week mini-camp, ending July 2nd. This will be a once a week class, meeting at the Lakeside Park Basketball Court, Saturdays at 8:00am .    We had two free trial sessions in May with almost 20 ladies in attendance both times!  Sessions beginning June 6th will be $5.00 for currently enrolled boot camp ladies and $10.00 for anyone else wishing to attend the class.  We will also offer a 10-session SPECIAL.  For those not currently enrolled in boot camp, the cost will be $90.00, and for those currently enrolled, the cost will only be $45.00. Otherwise, classes will be pay-as-you-go at the standard rates. Our ladies worked hard and pushed themselves to new limits! Lots of great new faces this month :) Again, fantastic improvements in such a short period of time. New workouts and still more new exercises have kept everyone's body guessing and breaking any plateaus. Our &lt;strong&gt;Nutrition Seminar&lt;/strong&gt; was a big hit too! "How to Stay Sane, Not Gain, and Maintain During the Holidays!" Lots of good strategies for not sabotaging yourself and the great progress our women have made thus far. Bootcamp is about encouraging one another to do your best and supporting eachother when times get tough and you feel like quitting.  Everyone has an important role in our camps and we rely on everyone's different strengths and abilities to make the bootcamp the best it possibly can be.  From our ladies that shout encouragment and compliment eachother, to the women that put their nose to the grindstone and work as hard as they can, each individual is what makes our bootcamps a success.  And we as instructors always will promote this positive environment every day of camp!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Partner activities included: Partner Lunge and Plank (Careen lunged out both legs while Margaret held her plank position for over a minute! Impressive!), High Five Push-Up (Beverly and her mom were animals this week..what a fit duo!), Dumbbell pass with a sit-up (Karen and Beth, both hard working women), medicine ball walkovers...you will see we had a little visitor come to camp and give Yanim a peck on her hands telling her to get going! LOL&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are so proud of everyone!  It was quite hot and humid the past couple of days, but these ladies persevered and worked through it; no one was afraid of a little sweat bath!  These are women that are going to reach their fitness goals. For those returning campers, it's like you never even missed a beat! We know how much you missed us and we certainly missed all of you :) The first couple of days we have hit all major muscle groups in a circuit style of training. Our boot camp ladies quickly realize the importance of good nutrition to adequately sustain them through these workouts. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;We are very excited to have all of our new campers as well! You all did exceptionally well and we hope you enjoyed your first day of camp, even if it was after the fact while you were reflecting on all that you had accomplished. Boot camp is all about going at YOUR OWN PACE. Of course, the instructors are here to push you and give you challenging workouts, that's our job! We want you all to achieve your goals and break plateaus. However, everyone has their limits and it is just a matter of you recognizing what that is. Everyone learns, as did all of our return campers, how to most effectively pace yourself so that you are still being challenged, yet able to make it all the way through the hour. It is an art form we are confident everyone will master very shortly :) &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And lastly, nutrition! Some people do better exercising on an empty stomach, and some people will get sick and nauseaous if they don't eat. If you are awake and moving an hour or so before camp, one serving cream of rice or oatmeal with a fast digesting protein such as a whey protein shake is good (1 scoop). This needs 45-60 minutes to digest before camp. However, if you are waking up and coming directly to camp or if you have a sensitive stomach while exercising, eating a medium sized apple or 1/2 of a large grapefruit before camp is ideal. These are fast digesting and will give you enough fuel to get through the workout. It's important for our Bootcampers to drink lots of water throughout the day, as they will be needing it to replenish what is lost during the workouts. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Everyone (both return and new campers) will be amazed at the drastic improvements in their fitness levels after only 2 weeks of this camp. Everyone did their post-camp evaluations and blew their pre-camp evaluation scores out of the water!! The levels of strength and endurance in these woman have progressed exponentially, and we couldn't be prouder :) &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;The Post-Camp Eval's were followed up by a final workout...no slacking just 'cause it's the last day! These women pushed themselves to the very end. We pride ourselves on their results, and after only 4 weeks, Instructors and campers have a lot to be proud about! In addition to increased fitness levels, many women have seen significant loss of inches, with some losing up to 3 inches around the hips and 2 inches around the waist! This just proves the hard work and dedication these women are putting in. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Lastly, we did awards for all of our campers. That is what makes Boot Camp fun and keeps your body guessing in order for you to be able to see results just that much quicker. No plateaus allowed! &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Week One&lt;/strong&gt; was comprised of mostly total body workouts, intervals of cardio, with Friday being our pre fitness assessment day. In 4 weeks, we will do these same assessments again to evaluate progress.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Week Two&lt;/strong&gt; had the workouts becoming more body part specific. The levels of soreness definitely rose this week! However, we remind campers that a certain degree of soreness is good, and means that your body is becoming stronger, more fit and more toned. Everyone is doing such a great job of encouraging and pushing one another. Cardiovascular and muscular endurance levels of fitness have made drastic jumps of improvement, and 4-6 pounds of weight loss already off of some of these ladies!  There is no doubt that we have a driven and dedicated group willing to work hard for these results.  Some of these ladies have not worked out for over 25 years, and now they are able to perform workouts they would have never thought possible, in only 2 weeks!!  Just imagine what the results will be like 4, 6, 10 and 12 weeks down the road....impressive to say the least. All of them had different reasons for wanting to lose weight, but each one was willing to work just as hard as the other.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fitness is just like anything in life, we have to have a reason for doing something.  Why do you want a better body?  Do you want to be more active for your kids,? Do you want to bring back your younger years?  No matter what the reason may be, TAKE ACTION!! The truth is staying committed to a fitness routine can be difficult.  How can we overcome this, and be successful?  Try some of these ideas:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.  Schedule your workouts as if they were an appointment on your calendar, choose the same time each day.  Consistency is key with working out, and there is no better way than making it part of a daily routine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.  Try working out in the MORNING.  This will eliminate almost any excuse for missing your workout and you WILL feel more energized throughout the day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3.  Find a workout partner or coach.  Having accountability can go a long way in helping you stay committed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4.  Measure results!!  We see ourselves everyday so its often hard to visibly see changes, but if you measure the numbers don't lie! Eating Saturated and Trans fats are never a good idea, but we do need to be sure to get our daily doses of mono and poly unsaturated fats!
